| 説明 | "If you count back you will find that the first is correct. Not that it makes any difference, but for the sake of the records it should agree. You know how those things are.I was very sorry to hear of the condition of things in Southern Maryland, but I have not changed my mind in regard to the value of the plantation. I repeat again, as I did in my last letter, that when the present situation is cleared up, the resulting economic phase will be such that the only security will be represented by the land. If possible I would hang on till the last ditch. If you need any money don’t hesitate to let me know as at the present time I have no use for what I’m paid"From the Edward L. Parke Collection (COLL/5627) at the Archives Branch, Marine Corps History Division OFFICIAL USMC PHOTOGRAPH |
