| 説明 | Photograph of U.S. Army soldiers Master Sgt. Luther A. Pickett of Lexington, N.C. (right), with a pipe in his mouth, and an unidentified solider, standing in knee-deep mud in the middle of a dirt road somewhere in Europe during World War II. Photograph taken while Pickett was serving in the 79th Field Artillery Group, U.S. Army. Description on the back of the photograph reads: “Believe it or not: Taken in the middle of the Road. Did you notice I cut the mustache just for this picture P.S. I feel naked.” Description in photo album: “Believe it or not—This picture was taken in the middle of the road.
