| 説明 | The island's name is based on the Bajau word "gayo" which means big. Eventhough it may look like a tropical paradise, its eastern point (Tanjung Sindian) is spoiled by illegal settlements belonging to immigrants from the Philippines. It is a place best not visited by locals and tourists as crime-doers make that their home away from home. Once a policeman was seriously injured after carrying out an operation at the village known as Pondo Village. The village is clearly visible from the city. |
