After tying up owner Jack Termin, his brother and a customer in the back room they heard someone enter the store. Fearing it was a cop responding to the crime, Walz shot the person three times and killed him. The man actually was a cop; Arthur F. Esau, a Town Hall District plainsclothes police officer. The pair were arrested less than two weeks later and were executed in "Old Sparky" in 1929Located at 3404 N. Clark St. |
