Kaʻala is one of my favorite hiking destinations and a very special natural place.This primary hybrid is a "remake-of-sorts" of a popular ladyslipper hybrid widely grown here in Hawaiʻi called Paphiopedilum Leeanum (Paph. spicerianum x Paph. insigne) because of its heat tolerance. But, I thought by crossing Paph. exul with Paph. spicerianum, I could grow an even more heat tolerant hybrid. The result is that it does very well in our warm island temperatures and grows as a more compact plant.Paphiopedilum Mt.
