| 説明 | This building is located on the northeast corner of S. Fifth Street and Pacific Avenue in Miles City, Montana. The address of the building is 226 S. Fifth Street.I don't know what the building is currently used for but it used to house the Northern Pacific Grocery. The building is directly across Pacific Ave. from the former Northern Pacific Railway Depot.The link below has some history about a family that once owned the N.P. Grocery:milescity.com/history/people/biographies/11Based on a note in the Stardust column of the March 24, 2017, Miles City Star newspaper (below), this building was probably constructed over the summer of 1917.From the March 24, 2017, Miles City Star newspaper, page 4, Stardust, 100 Years Ago (1917):Albert Anderson of the N.P. Grocery has moved the old building where he has done business so long, about one hundred feet east on Pacific Avenue, and on the old site will erect a reinforced concrete, two-story building, 30 x 50 feet, which he will use for his business. Mr. Anderson expects the new building to be ready for occupancy about August 1. |
