| 説明 | "To a very thorough night attack, and we were not far wrong. Just after the sun went down the enemy poured from the jungle in our rear as squadron after squadron of mosquitos dove on Battery “7”. I have never heard such swearing or slapping as went on for the rest of the night. No smudges were permitted, as these were supposed to be wartime conditions, so the dear old Marines were quite at the mercy of natures dive bombers. I honestly believe that the entire Nazi fleet, what there is of it, could have steamed into Guantanamo Bay: Goering’s mighty Air-Armada might have droned overhead, but we of Battery “7” would not have taken time off from our slapping to fire one"From the Edward L.
