| 説明 | "March 11, 1941Dear Dad: I don’t know whether you received my last letter or not so I’ll try again. This time I’ll use six cents in stamps.Mother sailed from New York on the 22nd of February, and as her ship stopped at Santiago, for one day, she tried to get in touch with me. She sent a radiogram on Monday telling me the date of arrival and asking that I meet her at the dock. I received the wire Wednesday at 4:45 P.M. and the ship sailed at 5:00 P.M. that same day. Naturally I wasn’t there.Santiago is only eighty miles from here, but transportation is so slow and uncertain, that it necessitates several days planning in order to make the trip.
