| 説明 | "June 15, 1941Dear Dad:Received your letter two weeks ago, but have delayed writing until I could accumulate enough news to make an interesting letter. I now find that the outgoing mail may be subject to censorship s shall have to confine myself to remarks on the weather and strictly personal items.I took the examination for Staff Sergeant and passed with a very good grade. The rest of the procedure rests in the laps of the Gods at Washington, my part being to stand by and pray. Two days ago I received a letter from mother. She is apparently resigned to the life of Trinidad, but admits she would much rather be in the States. She’s not the only one. You really can’t appreciate what a nice country the U.S.A. is until"From the Edward L. Parke Collection (COLL/5627) at the Archives Branch, Marine Corps History Division OFFICIAL USMC PHOTOGRAPH |
