説明The Bank Buildings is a five-storey, Grade B1 listed red Dumfries sandstone building located at 1-27 Castle Street in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The building is currently owned by Primark, and was used as their flagship store in Northern Ireland from 1979 until it was destroyed by fire on 28 August 2018. As a part of renovations between 2016 and 2018, 29-43 Castle Street (formerly Commonwealth House) was demolished and a new building built in its place which was set to be merged with the original Bank Buildings. The new wing of the building appeared relatively undamaged following the fire of August 2018. The fire damaged Bank Buildings is currently undergoing a complete restoration and repair of the building. To help visitors get around the city centre as easily as possible in the aftermath of the fire at Bank Buildings the Belfast City Council introduced "Just follow the yellow dot" trail. They created a downloadable map which shows the pedestrian route around the black zone, including streets and areas that are accessible. The black zone marked on the map is currently closed to pedestrians and vehicles. A temporary walkway reconnecting Royal Avenue to Donegall Place is open and pedestrian access to Castle Street via Fountain Street has been restored. The footpath from the corner of Zara (on Donegall Place) to the corner of Fountain Street (City Picnic) is also open. The following businesses around the Castle Place junction are open: Abacus Beads McDonald’s Skechers Argento DV8 Spar The Cookie Box Guineys British Heart Foundation shop - 23 Fountain Street new Primark store at Commonwealth House, Castle Street.City Picnic (on Donegall Place) will continue to trade from their temporary premises.Zara and Tesco Metro remain closed while works continue to secure Bank Buildings. Look out for signage and maps across the city centre, showing which businesses have reopened and highlighting those near the remaining cordon areas.
