| 説明 | "Sylvania is anchored behind the breakwater, and to a certain degree sheltered from the full force of the waves, but that same breakwater is certainly suffering. By looking out of the portholes you can see huge gaps opened by the waves, and from the debris drifting by it looks as if a whole flotilla of wooden ships were caught in the very center of the storm. All boat service between the fleet and shore is cancelled, consequently about half of the crews are stranded ashore. Word was passed over the loud speaker system that arrangements had been made to feed and house those who reported to the shore patrol office and being as far as it is from the"From the Edward L.
