| 説明 | "Oct 26, 1940Dear Dad:I realize that it has been some time since I left home, and during that time I failed to write, but since my return to Parris Island I have been too damned busy, until tonight, to do a thing except my regular duties. For the past three weeks, until Tuesday of this week, I worked with the Army Ordnance men checking equipment and getting the directors of all three batteries ready for our departure for Cuba. At nights I worked with the battery Commander recording ballistic data complied during our firing runs on Hilton Head. Monday afternoon the top Sgt. Told me to get ready to fire the rifle range for requalification and at present I’m “snapping in”"From the Edward L.
