| 説明 | A selfie on the inner entrance piazza before I actually enter the Ubud monkey forest proper. I was trying to put on a brave face as I was a bit apprehensive about the monkeys running around loose and after reading stories about the simians sometimes getting aggressive and on occasion even biting visitors. The nice ticketing staff assured me that is not the case, and the monkeys are ok unless you tease or persecute them or they sense that you are carrying food. I was particularly apprehensive about my brand new Nikon D750 dSLR camera- it was a very expensive piece of equipment out on it's maiden run and I certainly did not want it to get vandalized by the monkeys. I needn't have worried, the monkeys were ok, in fact they appeared totally unconcerned with us humans, probably because they had just been fed and were thus happily munching away. I found many other guests carrying expensive dSLR cameras and mobile phones too, none of them were attacked or their cameras vandalized. (Bali, Indonesia, May 2018) |
