| 説明 | This is the original control panel for AC Tower, a railroad interlocking tower in Marion, Ohio. It was built in the early 1900s and was abandoned in the mid-1990s. The acronym "AC" stands for "Atlantic Crossing". Personnel working in interlocking towers set signals (green for "go" and red for "stop") for trains that needed to cross railroad intersections ("diamonds"). Signal operation is now done remotely using computers. Instead of being demolished, AC Tower and its contents were donated to the Marion Station museum, where it is on display.-------------------------------See info. at:www.rrsignalpix.com/tower_ac.phpandwww.american-rails.com/interlocking.html |
