| 説明 | Shots around the gardens of Blickling Hall. On a nice sunny afternoon. A day when planes started flying again, so I noticed a lot of noisey planes flying over head.I had got used to the peace and quite without them.This is the Doric Temple at Blickling Hall.The Doric Temple is Grade II* listed.Garden temple. Early/mid C18, probably by Matthew Brettingham senior, withlater alterations by Humphry or John Adey Repton. Gault brick with stoneand stucco dressings, shallow-pitched sheet copper roof. One storey,rectangular plan. Steps up to portico on west; Doric distyle in antis.Frieze with triglyphs and decorated metopes below pediment. Semicirculararched openings to north and south with stone handrail and balustrade. Covedportico ceiling on cornice, central flat panel with fret decoration to border.Central doorway, 2-leaf door with six raised and fielded panels, mouldedarchitrave, pediment on pulvinated frieze. Two blind niches with semicircularheads flank doorway. Frieze carried around north and south walls as a plainband. East wall has three tall sashes with glazing bars, divided by brickDoric pilasters. Frieze of triglyphs and metopes, the metopes decorated withalternating ringed bulls and scrolled initials with crown. Interior: westdoorway has pedimented surround matching that on the exterior. Moulded chairrail. In the north wall, a fireplace with eared and scrolled surround.Elaborate cornice to ceiling.
