| 説明 | Wakayama Castle. Construction was begun by the powerful Toyotomi clan in 1585 and after the Battle of Sekigahara and the rise of the Tokugawa Shogun, the castle compound and Japan fell into the Tokugawa's control. The Toyotomi clan's rule of Japan was the end of the Warring States Period and the beginning of the Unification of Japan under one military ruler. The original castle was severly damaged, but not destroyed, during the fire bombings of World War II, and after the war the castle was rebuilt of concrete and the insides were made into a history museum, much like Osaka Castle. |
