| 説明 | Mechanical Team Leader and Cadet-in-Charge David Watts, Class of 2010, stands in front of the Statue of Liberty with the casualty evacuation device prior to a ceremony marking this collaboration between West Point and the National Park Service. Eight cadets from the Class of 2010 visited the Statue of Liberty on May 5 for the demonstration of their Capstone Project. The civil and mechanical engineer majors spent the better part of a year designing and building a rescue device for the National Park Service which utilizes the outer railing of the statue's staircase and rides down at a constant speed, dampened by a modified personal escape rope system.
