| 説明 | April 14th 2010i found some Ants in my room this morning...!i have Never seen an Ant in this room before...!!!So i vacuumed them up, and sealed all the holes in the vicinity that i found them with Wood Glue ( in my closet & bathroom ) They seem to be isolated to this one corner and the base board to the door way to the living room. All the ants seemed to be very lethargic.i keep forgetting to take a picture of them!It's important to know what kind of ants they are...!So after i vacuumed up a few dozen of them, i cleaned the floor, and vacuumed the surrounding carpeting...Then i went to the library and did some computer stuff...Then on the way home, got some TAT Ant Bait!It came with 4 serving dishes, but i only used one, as the infested area seems very small.Also; when i got home, there were a few on the floor, but only 3 or 4.But while i was sitting here, Something ( ??? ) fell from above me, and wizzed right by my face... But when i looked on the floor, whatever it was had disappeared...!i have an infestation of GHOST BUGS!Thursday: April 15th / i told Jim ( downstairs ) about the ants, and he went around to everyone in the building and asked if they had any ants in their apartments, and everyone said no. ( ! ) Then Jim suggested that maybe i'd brought some in on my shoes, which seemed very improbable to me, but i may have brought some in on my backpack, or shopping bag. This would explain how, if they were initially deposited on the carpeting by the doorway where they were first noticed, i would see only a few, and then, as more of them migrated to the closet, i would see more of them, and then after i vacuumed up most of those, they would have substantially disappeared. Considering all those that i collected so far; The total number of ants that were originally introduced would be somewhere around 40... Which seems like a lot to me, hiding somewhere in my back pack or shopping bag, and remain undetected at that source point.Curiously though; i did notice an ant on the desk when i was at the library, which means that it must have come from my backpack. From which direction did it get there? From my room to the backpack, or my backpack to the room?As of today; i have seen only about 4 or 5.The idea of ExoSpermiation seems a most likely explanation after all.Friday:Haven't seen any ants in the usual place, but i just saw one walking across my desk...! A good 8 feet across rugged carpeting, unless it took a short cut somehow...? When i first spotted it, i ran to get the vacuum, but when i returned it had disappeared, despite a thorough search under all the magazines...! Then i waited a few minutes, and it reappeared.It, along with two spiders that i just at that time noticed on the wall, were then dispatched to a watery purgatory... ?So i am thinking; Of all the places that a small number of ants could be hiding in my room— vs the number that i've spotted... How many are there? And how reasonable is it to continue to believe that they came here by riding on my backpack...?It is very similar to the Flying Saucer problem of Witnessed, vs Not Witnessed Flying Saucers. Given the number that are Witnessed; The Actual Number of Visiting Flying Saucers must be Stupendous. Likewise with these ants...???i can't seem to find any when i'm looking for them though... Which again; Parallels the Flying Saucer Paradox... Are they Appearing only when they have a high likelihood of being spotted...? For What Purpose...! ( ??? ) |
