| 説明 | We stayed the night in Beck Hall – a lovely little B&B in Malham, with a cosy room with a nice shower. Given we were covered in mud, it felt a bit too nice!For some reason Catherine had opted not to pay the extra £5 for a four poster bed, and having been rather weary we didn't make use of the well stocked honesty bar, featuring a roaring fire and a wide assortment of spirits and Black Sheep ales.In the morning though we did have a hearty fry up – with locally produced sausages and bacon for me – and headed off with our packed lunches – ham salad for me and cheese salad for Catherine both on wholemeal bread as the owner the previous evening had seemed to be very keen that we got plenty of fibre judging by his leading questions of "And would that be on wholemeal bread then?"I must confess the pricing policy was rather curious too. £2 for one round but only £2.50 for two! Fully stocked we headed off on to day two – a fourteen mile hike to Horton-in-Ribblesdale, ending up on Pen-y-ghent. |
