LA TRIP WITH THE TRACKIES 3/30/07 - 4/1/07!!!!!!!! / elisasizzle

| 説明 | every year, Andy takes about 50 of the best runners/ones with most seniority/loyalty on an overnight trip to SoCal for a track meet, complete with cushy tourbuses with TVs, a treated dinner at Hometown Buffet afterwards, and late night prank playing at hotels. THIS YEAR, however, we would have all of that AND an extra day to spend at Magic Mountain b/c spring break coincided with the Rio Mesa Meet. AHHH MY GOSH IT WAS AMAZING. everything about the trip was ridiculously perfect, from the fact that we were so lucky to get to go on it in our senior year to the beautiful weather (it was rainy last year) to the beautiful hotel/pool (it wasn't anywhere near as nice last year) except maybe the random little town we stopped for subways for on the way there and how i warmed up for the long jump about 3 hours early. but the trip will definitely hold a place on my list of Most Memorable HS Moments, as Andy hoped it would hold ( he gave a little speech on Fri. night about what he expected from us on Sat. during the meet: 1) we didn't travel all the way here to screw up, 2) no flip flops and 3) to have fun b/c we earned this trip, both money-wise and athletic-wise. he then told a story about his first time taking a group of runners down to the Mt. Sac Meet and Disneyland afterwards, and how years later, one of the runners came back and told him that that was one of his favorite HS memories, and that's why andy does all the hard work of organizing the LA trip and spends the wknd with a bunch of crazy teenagers. awwwwww.) |
