| 説明 | Built in the 6th century AD by the Emperor Juntinianus, the Basilica (Yerebatan, in Turkish) cistern provided water to the city from the Belgrade Woods, 19km north of the city, via aqueducts. The 9800 square meter underground cavern has been renovated three times in the last fifty years and is now eerily quiet and lit by a string of red lights. Istanbul, Turkey. |
