| 説明 | I always assumed that this former station in Longbridge used to serve the former car plant in Longbridge. It has been closed for ages, and I think that this line is no longer in use.A modern Longbridge Station was built in 1978 (on the main line). This one on the Bristol Road South, was built for the Halesowen Railway in 1915. It was opened by the Midland Railway at their "end" of the Halesowen Railway. The line joined to the one operated by GWR.Since the demoliton of the Longbridge Car Plant, the tracks have been removed in some parts. Before demoliton, I think that the bridge that crossed the Bristol Road South (carrying cars in the plant), was to the right of the station. Now it is gone (since 2006).The letters T and E are left. When I took this I was wondering what it said, but it used to read TICKETS PARCELS. What happend to the missing letters?Longbridge Station - Halesowen Railway |
