| 説明 | This sculpture created by K.S. Radhakrishnan, called the HERITAGE COLUMN has a column that is not just a pillar, was conceived as the recollection and embodiment of a cultural heritage. The column is vertical and the figure is horizontal. The column is architectural and the figure is organic in its structure. The emblematic form of the woman in this sculpture recalls a pennant floating in the wind. seen from a far on the crest of the hill. The figure mimics the landscape, echoing the near horizontal tree tops. As one approaches, the figure in minimal contact with the column impishly mocks the spectator who can only see but never reach the monumental figure floating above. An intimate sense of the monumental, a paradox in tactile terms, is the key to the understanding of this sculpture, set as it is, in the context of the cultural melting pot of India’s capital city.Taken at the Garden of Five Senses, New Delhi.ReferenceView On Black |
