説明 | You ever wake up in the middle of the night with a cold sweat, andthe only thing that can comfort you is meat that's been rotatingvertically against a heat lamp, wrapped in lavash bread with an arrayof mediterranean vegetables? Really? Every night? Same here. Too badthis place isn't open 24 hours, but when I have a hankering for aninexpensive meal to go, I go to a place on University Ave. in PaloAlto called Gyros Gyros (Google Local).Baklava! Rizogola! Mousaka! I've never tried any of these items onthe menu. I've only ever bought a lamb&beef gyro, chicken gyro, andhummus plate. The chicken gyro ($5.95) is my favorite. The chicken istender and juicy and complements the other ingredients nicely. Thelamb&beef gyro (pictured, $5.95) is pretty good too; however, I feelits a little too heavy, the meat a little dry. The hummus plate(pictured, $4.95) comes with a greek salad and pita bread and makes anice side dish, but a gyro by itself is more than enough to fill you up.The atmosphere of the restaurant is casual, and the place is fairlysmall and crowded. Not too crowded though - I've never not gotten aseat when I wanted one and the wait for food is usually around 5minutes.I finished my meal an hour ago and I feel like I'm gonna die. It'sthat good. It makes you die. |
