| 説明 | Thursday 25th February 2010 North West Air Ambulance deploys helicopter to road traffic crash in Preston City CentreThe region’s helicopter emergency medical service was called to assist at the scene of a four-vehicle road crash on the Ringway in Preston City Centre.The air ambulance joined land crew colleagues and airlifted a man with whiplash injuries from the scene to the Royal Preston Hospital.The state-of-the-art EC135 emergency helicopter based at Blackpool was called to the scene and after the Police cleared the area and closed local roads, the aircraft landed in a car park between the city’s bus station and the scene of the crash.Paul West, Clinical Manager said: “the helicopter was able to land in the busy city centre and provide rapid and smooth transit to hospital.“The helicopter is ideal for patients suffering from whiplash injuries as it provides rapid and smooth transport to the most appropriate hospital.The North West Air Ambulance is a charity that relies almost entirely on public donations and works to support the land ambulance service.
