| 説明 | Julio Remelexo was born in Salvador, Bahia. All Julio's work beganthrough his mother, an integral singer of the group, Ile Aiye, inSalvador, Brazil. This awoke in him the interest and desire toparticipate in this family. At 16 years of age he began to attend IleAiye's rehearsals of children and teen-agers in Curuzu. He became amember of Banda Aiye and at 17 he had become a percussionist. With this band, he participated in the parade every day of Carnaval. As a member of this band his great love for music and percussiongrew. Julio did various international and national workshops. He touredBrazil, Europe and the United States with Banda Aiye. Whe toured toMaceou, Paulo Afonco, Maranhao, and Recife in Brazil; France, Italy,and Germany in Europe; and San Francisco's Carnaval in the UnitedStates.He has participated with many famous groups in Brazil including:Margarete Menezes, Daniela Mercury, Timbalada, and Olodum. He alsostarted two bandsin Brazil, Banda Desine and Jovencia.When he went to the United States, the organszation Brasarte invitedhim to return on a cultural exchange. Julio Remelexo arrived in theUnited States in 2003 to teach workshops to children and teen-agers. Julio also began playing with the bands Tambores do Brazil and RioTribal. |
