| 説明 | No Point Farm on St. Jeromes Neck Road in Dameron MD on Christmas Day, 25 December 2004This is the old kitchen which when originally built was adjacent to the main house. During the time that it was built it was the custom to built the kitchen next to but as a separate structure from the main house. A chimney separated the two.So, for many years, in order to enter into the kitchen from the main house, it was necessary to exit from the back side of main house, walk a few feet and then enter the kitchen. When the Cappers purchased the property an agreement was made to construct a new kitchen at the same location as had been the original kitchen. A doorway was then cut into the right side of the main house which led directly into the kitchen. Black carpenter William Barber was contracted to construct the new kitchenA few years passed before a bathroom was added to the other side of the house. A doorway was cut at left side of the house through what was referred to as the parlor to provide access to the newly constructed bathroom.Therefore, before 1970 or so, this house did not have a bathroom. And we would use an out house. Which was a few yards away in the garden just pass the back yard. And next to the storage and tool shed. |
