| 説明 | The Birmingham Central Library from the other side i.e. from Centenary Way, the walkway over Paradise Circus Queensway.This was as I came back via Paradise Forum two or three hours later.It was built over Paradise Circus and was designed by the John Madin Design Group.Construction began in 1969 and it opened in 1974.Structural design by Ove Arup & Partners and the main contractor was Sir Robert McAlpine & Sons. Opened by Harold Wilson in January 1974.It was designed by John Madin, a Birmingham architect and its inverted ziggurat form is a powerful example of the Brutalist style.Shots from Centenary Square neare Baskerville House.Copthorne Hotel on the left.Chamberlain House on the right. |
