| 説明 | On August 4 1955 Arnold Crump of Newtown was injured in Tawa when alighting from the 6.20pm service from Wellington to Paekakariki. He suffered a fractured pelvis. He took the NZ Railways Department to court for damages and was successful with his claim, being awarded £2378.14.0. The incident occurred when the train started to leave the station before passengers were off the train in Tawa. The resulting enquiries found that there was no bell rung to let passengers know that the train was leaving and the train guard was unsure if he blew his whistle to alert passengers of the departing train.
