| 説明 | Praktica Nova film SLR, Tri-X 400 ISO, 1/60 sec @ f.16, developed in homemade Caffenol C (Coffee-based developer) some post processing in Photoshop 6.We stopped at a nearly abandoned (and very sadly, vandalized) cemetery just north of Douglas, Az a few weeks ago. It was an old place, and from the readable stones, looks like it was in use in the first half of the 1900s. Many graves and memorials were lovingly handmade- cast concrete and brick and mortar mostly. Some were simple metal crosses. It seems they were resourceful people living in a rural area, being creative with their own hands.This water tank was positioned at the edge of the cemetery grounds...as sturdy and well- made as it was rusted, it seemed to me. I didn't try the spigot. The old sign read that the water was for cleaning, not for drinking. I imagine the tank came in handy for mixing the mortar and concrete, and washing up afterwords. I hope our being there helps some of those forgotten folks to be remembered again. |
