| 説明 | Volunteers work to deposit recycled oyster shells into the Piankatank River near Gwynn's Island on Aug 1, 2018.Virginia Sea Grant along with Virginia Commonwealth University's Rice Rivers Center partners with Virginia Oyster Shell Recycling Program to collect used shells anywhere from Charlottesville, Richmond, Williamsburg, Newport News, Hampton, Norfolk, Suffolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach.The shells are held in seeding tanks where spat - or oyster larvae - can attach to the shells for healthy and stable growth.
