| 説明 | 2009 was not a good year, for me. (Seems it's always about me, I know.)By October '08 I saw it coming.And through most of 2009, it seems, I found myself reacting to each new basket of fresh hell the fates left on my doorstep. I know now that I should not have grown comfortable with being defined by a good gig.Worse, though, I did not anticipate the crater it left in my heart when my friends, my people, my support network were wrenched away.I tell them I was lucky: I got picked up hardly two weeks after hitting the street.That WAS lucky.But you go so long where everything is familiar and you know all the rules and whose who, it's like diving into arctic waters when something new starts up.Hard to breathe.Limbs go numb.Head pounds.Then you get up and do it again the next day, and the next, and then the year is gone.And you don't want to be reminded of all the events that brought age upon you more quickly than before.Over my desk hung a 2009 wall planner -- a calendar with all the critical moments sharpied in (wouldn't want to miss a date with fate).I don't need it anymore and I do not wish to be reminded.I meant to do this on my birthday, but a couple days got away from me, so tonight's the night.So long.IMG_0260 |
