| 説明 | A white-ground kylix (wine cup with a shallow bowl on a tall stem often decorated with a scene that would be revealed once the wine was drunk) from 480-470 BCE found in a tomb. Apollo is depicted crowned with a myrtle-leaf wreath and wearing a white peplos (a draped, body-length garment that was actually the typical attire of women) beneath a red himation (rectangular piece of cloth worn over the left shoulder and wrapped around the body). He sits on a stool with legs in the shape of lion paws. His left hand plays a lyre while his right pours a libation from a navel-phiale (shallow wine cup with a large knob in the center representing the omphalos, the mythic navel of the universe). The black bird is likely a crow (raven) representing the Thessalian princess Coronis, a love of Apollo who transformed her into a crow when she was unfaithful to him.The Archaeological Site of Delphi was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987.On Google Earth:Archaeological Museum of Delphi 38°28'48.51"N, 22°29'58.72"E |
