| 説明 | My guide took this long shot of me while we wait for our lunch to be served. Well, it is not actually a long shot, he has shot it from right across the table where he is sitting. I was rather tired after a hectic morning out, and we still had much ground to cover, so I decided to stay put and enjoy the quietness of the moment. We were lucky to find this open restaurant during the Moslem fasting month of Ramadan. Quite unlike the Middle East, where I currently live, where all eateries have to be closed during daylight hours during Ramadan or else, I was surprised to find a sprinkling of open restaurants here in largely Moslem Indonesia where people were actually dining. Dubai, where I live is a bit more moderate, and although dining in during the daytime is not allowed, some restaurants can get a permit to serve take away parcels to bachelors and non Moslems. Large shopping malls, which largely see an international crowd, allow a handful of outlets in the food court to serve food even during daylight hours during Ramadan provided they are barricaded, away from the sight of other shoppers.
