| 説明 | free use...no attribution necessary!The other day I was sitting in my car at HEB wrapping a present and a man in his pick up behind me was irritated about a car in front of him that was not moving. He started honking. His windows were down and he yelled, "Go, go, go! Don't stop there you g** d*** m***** f*****!" He finally was able to move and made a loop around and I heard him honking and cussing some more and then...he pulled into the now empty parking space next to me.This is a picture of what was on the back of his truck window.At first I thought it was a mixed message but, because it was such a paradox, I thought about it a lot. It was a concrete experience that exemplified something that I've been learning. Really, it's only the conflict that motivates me to seek a deeper peace. So, in a way, this man could be an unwitting teacher of peace if the one he attacks wants to and works to find peace in the presence of the conflict!So, what might appear to be two things that are opposites, at odds with each other, can also be thought of as counterbalances, a pressure used to bring about a truer preference...not by pushing against one but by learning through that one. After all, I have control with one perspective but not with the other!YAY, Peace!Happy New Year! |
