| 説明 | Kasim was the thirty year old chef de collectivite for Katwiguru. Although the chef de collectivité is a government position it is often inherited. He told me that almost all of the 5,000 people in the collectivité had fled, except for a dozen or so who slept by the MONUC patrol that was stationed in the town. Kasim asked if UNICEF could help with children who had been separated from their parents during the move as they could not afford health care or schooling. A bit later two women approached Aniset for his help in joining the registration. They explained that they were from Kiwanja but for two months they had been looking after 7 separated children from Katwiguru. I will ask my colleagues from Child Protection to see what we need to do to improve our response for separated kids. |
