| 説明 | Christmas cake, Christmas log, Yule log - however which way you call it, these are extremely popular in Québec during Christmas time.At one time, you could only get one variety: the ice cream Christmas log sold in grocery stores throughout Québec (and they were truly horrible)— that is, until cake & pastry shops caught on to the idea! Now you can get a bûche at just about any patisserie anywhere, in a smorgasborg of tastes and flavours; from the traditional chocolate to mocha-coffee, to mango with raspberry coulee, to orange mousse, to marizipan and more! The Bûche de Noël is a cake created in Paris in the late 19th century. This is a rolled cake filled with cream or jam, often covered with a abundant icing. It was traditionally served as a dessert on Christmas Eve. It caught on with the rest of France during the 20th century, then became widespread in Belgium, Quebec and eventually the rest of the world several generations later.PEKARNA PÂTISSERIE CAFÉ (CLOSED)www.pekarna.ca/2313 Sainte-Catherine Street WestMontreal, QC(514) 228-5222 |
