| 説明 | WyeningAround 1917 a railway siding was developed. Up to 10 houses were built, police station and a school for the local farm children to come for their education. The townsite was gazetted in 1921. It was originally called Wyaning then later changed to Wyenning. which meant 'place of fear' or 'place of snake'. A stream runs through part of the old townsite which was interpreted by the original owners as the 'snake'. In 2018, the local school and town oval are gone and only one house still stands. The land has been set aside as a reserve. In 1892 a Mission to convert the local indigenous folk to Christianity was developed and still operates today as a tourist attraction. "Wyening Mission Farm now operates as a grain producer and promotes regional food, history and farming."www.wmfarm.com.au/ In Jan 2021 we visited the area and found sometime during the year of 2020, a fire destroyed this house.
