| 説明 | Today was a beautiful day so I decided to get the Luas Tram to Lehaunstown Lane in order to see how the new Tully Park development has progressed since my last visit. As you can see from my photographs there is an ongoing illegal dumping problem in the area.There is a plan to construct of about eight thousand new homes in the Cherrywood area of South Dublin.The development is on the site of an old settlement which features several monuments dating from the 12th Century. They include Tully Church, an adjoining graveyard, and two high crosses. Access to the older of two crosses is restricted which is a bit annoying.It is claimed that the older of the two crosses bears the image of Saint Laurence O'Toole, Archbishop of Dublin at the time of the Norman invasion of Ireland.Lehaunstown Lane and the existing hedgerows and tree lines will divide the Park naturally into four zones:A Heritage Zone with Tully Church & Graveyard, High Crosses and their environs, with paths to explore the monuments.A Biodiversity Zone with lots of native wildflowers, shrubs, trees and informal paths to wander.A Play Zone which includes a large play area for kids, a skate park and an amphitheater area for open-air plays or performances.A Passive Zone with lawns, meadows and wooded areas make up the majority here, with winding paths and seating areas. |
