| 説明 | The street in front of our hotel as the sky starts to clear. The town of Bocas del Toro is located on the shore of Colón Island (Isla Colón) in Bocas del Toro Archipelago (Archipiélago de Bocas del Toro), part of Bocas del Toro Province. Buildings come right up to and even into the water. Going to the beach means going out of town.In 1502 on his fourth (final) voyage, Christopher Columbus (Cristóbal Colón in Spanish) visited Bocas del Toro. Impressed by the beauty of the area, he named many of the sites after himself. During the 17th century pirates used the archipelago as a hideout where they could build and repair their ships. On Google Earth:Hotel Bocas del Toro 9°20'18.27"N, 82°14'25.11"W |
