| 説明 | Navy Cmdr. Mark Dobbertien, Officer in Charge of the Forward Surgical Team (FST) assigned to Forward Operating Base (FOB) Farah, Afghanistan, and a general trauma surgeon, comforts Ali Ahmad, age 8, while other members of the Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) Farah medical team and the FST apply a protective cream known as Silvadene to Ali's left leg wound which Ali received from a motorcycle accident several weeks ago. Ali's father who was driving the motorcycle when it was struck from behind did not survive the accident. Ali came to the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Clinic for a follow-up exam with his uncle and had his wounds reassessed. The FST Farah medical team is hopeful that they will be able to provide a skin graft for Ali soon that would help his leg heal more efficiently. The PRT and FST medical teams have been conducting bi-weekly missions at the Civil Affairs ran clinic since they arrived in July 2009. Their goal is to work in partnership with local Farah Hospital doctors and internists to teach them more advanced medical techniques and treatments. The ultimate goal of the PRT medical team is to see the SOF Clinic handed over to the local Afghan doctors and for them to take control of it permanently.
