| 説明 | Southern Pacific # 2873, an EMD GP-9, in the Kodachrome paint scheme (faded) of the failed SP-SF merge. Taken at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola California, where she's an operating part of the "operate a locomotive" program. Taken by a Nikon D40x with a Nikon 18-55mm non-VR kit lens. (at 23)Both this paint scheme (also known as "Shouldn't Paint So Fast") and the locomotive model (GP-9) are vanishing - the paint scheme as both the SF's and the SP's locomotives that got the scheme in the first place (not many...) are re-painted by the new ownership, (SF: the BNSF, SP: the UP) and the locomotive model, as too weak for most main-line duties in current use.Unknown why this guy is headed towards the loco with a hacksaw! |
