| 説明 | This is an image made from nine photos using Photoshop Elements 14 to focus stack nine photos. The photos were taken using a Canon 100 mm macro lens.HMM A beautiful flower but quite deceiving as outlined below. Lots of interesting compounds for a chemist or a biochemist to ponder. Lily of the valley, Convallaria majalis, sometimes written lily-of-the-valley, is a sweetly scented, highly poisonous woodland flowering plant that is native throughout the cool temperate Northern Hemisphere in Asia and Europe. Other names include May bells, Our Lady's tears, and Mary's tears. Its French name, muguet, sometimes appears in the names of perfumes imitating the flower's scent. All parts of the plant are highly poisonous, including the red berries which may be attractive to children. If ingested—even in small amounts—the plant can cause abdominal pain, vomiting, reduced heart rate, blurred vision, drowsiness, and red skin rashes. [Wikipedia] |
