| 説明 | 1961 Cadillac headlight control knob with housing bezel and faceplates removed. This "LIGHTS" knob controlled headlights, fog lights, parking lights, instrument cluster dash lights, the intensity of instrument lights, and courtesy/dome lights.This "LIGHTS" knob controlled headlights, fog lights, parking lights, instrument cluster dash lights, the intensity of instrument lights, and courtesy/dome lights.The left image shows the "off" position. The knob (and the rod attached to it) is completely inserted into the unit. Coursey/dome lights could be turned on if this knob was fully rotated counterclockwise.The middle image shows the knob part-way out, which turns on the parking lights and the instrument panel lights (radio light, clock light, speedometer light, gear light, etc.) on the dash. Rotating the knob increases or decreases the intensity of these instrument lights.For cars with fog lights, these lights can be turned on with the knob in this position by rotating the ring knob (look like a thick collar behind the knob) behind the control knob to the right.The right image shows the knob pulled out as far as it will go (normally), which will turn on the headlights. For city driving, the two outer headlights are on. When high beams are needed, the two inner headlights will turn on. Selecting high beams is achieved by depressing a button (called the headlight dimmer switch) on the floor just below the parking brake. If the car is equipped with Guide-Matic Power Headlight Control (looks like a radar gun attached to the middle of the dash pad), this will automatically dim all four headlights lights when oncoming light from a car is detected. If the car didn't have this option, the switch on the floor would have to be pressed to turn off the high beams. In "Forever Knight," Nick's Caddy would have had this style for the knob and ring knob. Nick's Caddy also did not have the Guide-Matic Power Headlight Control, so would need to turn on and off the high beams by depressing the floor button.Font is the immajer-FK font |
