| 説明 | You may be curious as to what this shape is called. The only name I've seen for it is the E5 - 4H3. Simply put, it represents the geometric difference between a rhombicosidodecahedron (an E5) and four expanded Stewart G3s (the H3s.) I was inspired to put one together after seeing Alex Doskey's version on the JovoToys pages. It did not take long to make once I finally got around to making it, but I must admit that the structure eluded my understanding for a long time before that. If you would like to make this model yourself, I heartily recommend obtaining an interactive version first. You have at least two choices: you can obtain an X3D/VRML viewer (on Windows, I recommend the MediaMachines FluxPlayer 2.1 browser plugin) and point it at this WRL file, or you can download the OFF file and then view it with an OFF viewer like Antiprism's antiview. Jim McNeill, who supplied both of the files above, has a page contains a veritable treasure trove of information about the E5-4H3 and many other polyhedra. |
