| 説明 | Every year in October the "Brückenfest" is being celebrated in our region. It is dedicated to Germany's most elevated railway bridge, the "Müngstener Brücke", which is just a couple of miles from our home. (For information on this structure see here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%c3%bcngsten_Bridge)This year two steam excursion trains were run during the Brückenfest celebration. Due to interlocking railway lines they can operate in large circle around the cities of Solingen, Remscheid, and Wuppertal without changing direction. One of the engines in charge was a wonderfully maintained Prussian T18 (aka BR 78 during the Reichsbahn and Deutsche Bundesbahn eras). Here you see it producing steam for the next portion of its run - admired by children and adults alike. |
