| 説明 | smoky spinecup, Oxytheca dendroidea subsp. dendroidea, Nevada, White Mountains, Middle Creek, Fishlake Valley drainage, elevation 2537 m (8325 ft).This species is so lacy and insubstantial when in flower that it often appears as no more than a smoky haze near the ground. For the same reason it is also a horrendous subject to photograph!This subspecies is common in dry locations at low to middle elevations in the northern Basin and Range region of the western United States. The other part of the species, subspecies chilensis, is, as you might guess, found in the southern hemisphere, in the Andes of Chile and Argentina. |
