| 説明 | The Department of English presents pictures from the eighth annual Día De Los Niños / Día De Los Libros celebration of kids, language, and culture. Special guests included Ray Villareal and Gloria Velásquez (keynotes), Dusti Bowling, Amy Fellner Dominy, Stephanie Elliot, Abigail Johnson, Mary Lambert, Erin Lange, Tom Leveen, Jon Lewis, Bill Konigsberg, Melissa Marr, Kyle Mitchell, Amy Nichols, Kyle Grant Wilson, Henry Quintero, and Juana Martinez-Neal—winner of the 2018 Pura Belpré Award.The event is for kids in 6-12th grades and attendees must be sponsored by their schools (teachers register and accompany their students). Additional event partners included ASU's Office of the President, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and its division of humanities, Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing, Office of the Vice Provost for Inclusion and Community Engagement, and Center for Indian Education. Arte Publico Press is a community partner.
