| 説明 | this place is pagoda complex is what i think of whenever people ask me if i encountered any hostility in vietnam because of my nationality.the thien vuong pagoda was not in my guidebook and it is not marked on any street signs. the only reason i found it was because i met a man who found out i was american and went out of his way to help me. he later explained that he used to work for the americans during the war, and suffered for years in a reeducation camp afterwards for it. he always helps americans as a small way to get back at the government.the thien vuong pagoda was beautiful and remote, and devoid of any tourists (or entrance fees). i only took this one photo of the outside because i didn't want to offend the monks who graciously let us wander all over. |
