| 説明 | U.S. Forest Service Smokejumpers are transitioning to RAM-air or square parachutes. Today a window of nice weather in Redding allowed for training jumps for this season's new RAM-air operators.Trainees from Redding, CA, Redmond, OR, and Grangeville, ID bases have been working with trainers from both Redding and Missoula,MT over the last couple of weeks to complete the required number of proficency jumps. Ten Smokejumpers from Redding are anticipated to make the transition from round parachutes to square parachutes this year with an estimated 56 Smokejumpers nationwide making the jump to the RAM-air.180319-FS-PSW-KGG-381 |
